The essence of training in a nutshell:

Do a few big, compound exercises that cover your main movement patterns.
Press
Pull
Squat
Hinge
Carry


There’s rarely a need for more than 5-6 exercises in a workout.

Master your technique and always lift with perfect form.

Get progressively stronger on the big movements over time.

Keep your sets low to moderate so that you can recover and always be fresh – 3 to 4 sets per exercise.

Do an average of 10-15 reps per set.

Focus on the muscle/s you’re working. Go through the full range of movement. Every rep you should make the most of the ‘stretch’ and the ‘squeeze.

Train 3-4 days per week.

Outside of the gym, make sure to enough food (Know your macro levels: Calories, carbs, protein, fats & fiber).

Get 8 hours of sleep a night.

Laugh daily.

Keep it simple.
