I am sure that many of you have looked at me, or read my emails, and thought that I must be such a clean eater and that I never indulge.
Yeah right!
Another confession – sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and after my visit to the loo, I stroll over to the pantry and eat a bikkie. Yep, some nights, I am a midnight snacker.
But before you start stocking your pantry with all the goodies that you would love to have a mid-night feast on, hear me out.
Life is way too short to never indulge in snacks you love. But do I really need to remind you that MODERATION is key? Want another proverbial saying? Too much of a good thing ends up being a bad thing. Makes sense?
So how can you have your proverbial cake and eat it?
MOVE MORE! (Yep, I just raised my voice at you.) 🙂
You want to indulge? Then get moving 4 times a week for 30-45 minutes at an intensity that you can just about carry on a conversation. When you do that at the intensity suggested, your metabolic rate will pick up and that biscuit together with extra calories will melt away.
I want to put in a disclaimer at this stage – don’t go and eat only biscuits all day long.
Feed your body quality food (if you do not know what quality and nutritious food looks like, let me know and I can send you some information). Don’t binge out on ‘crap’. Feed yourself premium food, indulge occasionally on high quality snacks and you will feel the difference.
I am proof of this approach. I have been applying it for many years.
