Lifting and Toning Your Backside

Today’s subject – ladies, it’s about your backside. Otherwise known as your gluteus maximus. Your butt, bottom, or booty. More precisely we are going to talk about lifting and toning your backside.

These days most people are aware that we lose muscle tone, generally speaking, after the age of 30. It can be up to half a kilo per year if we don’t do something about it. The consequences of which mean an increase of unwanted fat.

The biggest muscle in the body is your bottom. Tone this, along with your legs and you become a serious fat-burning machine – not to mention having a great looking booty!

Our modern life-style doesn’t lend itself to having a toned bottom. We sit down more and generally do less activity.

A client of mine recently shared a statement and question. It went something like this:

“Steve, I’d like to lift my saggy bum cheeks but how much is down to good genetics and how much down to training”

My answer was this: “Genetics do play a role but exercising smarter is the key”

Most people, even lots of trainers think you should focus on the lower part of the backside by performing exercises like deep squats and lunges. And of course, they are essential moves.

However, if you really want to lift that tush of yours, you also need to work the muscles in your lower back. Focus on specific exercises in a particular order and you’ll really see and feel a difference.

Then my client said: “but Steve, I’m in my 40’s. How am I going to see changes at my age”

My answer: “It doesn’t matter what age you are. You can lift and tone your backside. Research in Texas on a hand-full of women in their 90’s showed that they could tone muscle.”

Most of my clients are female and 40+. On average they want to lose 10 to 20 kg’s.

I’ve created a program that anyone can do. Because it gives you options around the way you live. Even if you have an issue like a knee or lower back problem.

Combining toning and fat-burning workouts for no longer than 15 minutes, 3 to 4 times per week with no equipment needed will raise your metabolic rate, turning you into a more fat-efficient, burning machine.

We all know that confidence comes from within. If we look good, we feel good. How do you look in a swim suit – Honestly! Do you cover up? How do you hold yourself? Do you walk tall with confidence?

Male or female, we all like a toned backside. And let’s be honest, it gives us a confidence boost, knowing we can wear any clothes we want to.
