Which foods can lower your ‘bad’ cholesterol? (Part 2)

I sent a message to you last week mentioning which foods can help lower your bad cholesterol. Here’s part 2:

It’s no secret that certain foods can help lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, which causes plaque to build up in your arteries, which can lead to heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes. However, the good news is that many of these cholesterol-lowering foods are delicious and easy to incorporate into your daily diet without having to compromise on the flavours and enjoyment of food. Here are some of the most delicious healthy and “bad” foods for lowering cholesterol according to Nutritionists,

The high levels of unsaturated fatty acids in nuts, such as almonds, walnuts, or pistachios, can also help lower LDL levels. If possible, always choose the salt-free or low-salt version and do not eat more than 40 grams daily, as its caloric content is very high.

Those wonderful whole grains

Barley, oatmeal, and brown rice, among others, contain soluble fiber that has been shown to lower cholesterol. So it may be worth substituting our traditional white flour dough for brown white rice. And oatmeal for breakfast becomes a real cholesterol “killer” if we even add bananas or apples to it.
